Andrew is a seasoned litigator, with extensive appellate, trial and ADR experience.  His litigation portfolio focuses on commercial, trusts and public law matters. Subject matter spans tax, banking, competition, complex structuring, energy (regulation and governance), healthcare, insolvency. Much of his work has an international dimension.  

Andrew is particularly experienced at the appellate level, having appeared as counsel in over fifteen substantive Supreme Court hearings and numerous appeals before the Court of Appeal. Many of his cases have been reported in the law reports. He has been ranked by Chambers Asia-Pacific, Legal 500, International Law Office Client Choice Awards and Best Lawyers, among others.  

He is widely published on numerous legal matters; he is general editor of Equity and Trusts in New Zealand and co‑author of the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act: A Commentary, both of which are regularly cited with approval by New Zealand courts. Andrew is available as an arbitrator and to give expert evidence in trust related matters.
