David is known for his expertise in commercial disputes, class actions, insurance litigation, and corporate and insolvency disputes.  He has a leading reputation for his strong advocacy and strategic judgment.

David has more than 25 years’ courtroom experience, and he regularly appears as senior counsel in both trials and appeals.  He is a former head of Bell Gully’s litigation department, and he was named by Benchmark Litigation as New Zealand Litigation Lawyer of the Year in 2021.
