Matthew Muir (LLB (Hons) LLM (Virginia)) joins Mills Lane after 10 years as a Judge of the High Court.  He is a former partner of Holmden Horrocks & Co and Buddle Findlay, commercial barrister and silk who, prior to appointment to the Bench, had an extensive arbitration practice, and who now returns to the profession as an arbitrator and mediator.

He is widely recognised as a capable, timely and reliable decision maker who also has the skill set and temperament to assist constructively those seeking a mediated solution to their disputes.

In his period on the High Court and as a divisional member of the Court of Appeal for 7 years, Matthew has authored a number of major commercial, trust and resource management judgments, including:
